Breast Augmentation in Phoenix is a cosmetic procedure that uses implants to enlarge the shape of the breasts. It is designed to increase the size of small or underdeveloped breasts. Surgery can also restore and enhance your breast volume if it has decreased as a result of having children. This procedure is performed by placing the implant behind the existing breast tissue and/or the pectoral major muscle. The method of inserting your implant will depend on your anatomy and your surgeon's recommendation. The incision can be made either in the crease where the breast meets the chest, around the areola, or in the armpit. Breast augmentation can enhance your appearance and your self-confidence. Dr. Ali Mosharrafa in Phoenix can help you to achieve your goals. He specializes in procedures relating to breast augmentation including procedures such as eyelid lifts, brow lifts, breast reduction, liposuction, and tummy tucks. What To Expect: Dr. Flint will meet with you to determine which areas of your body would benefit from liposuction. She will listen to your goals and examine you. She will discuss the procedure with you and answer any questions you may have. Liposuction can provide dramatic improvements in areas of your body that are not responsive to diet and exercise. Preprocedure: Dr. Flint will describe the technique of tumescent or super-wet liposuction. All of your questions will be answered. You will be provided with information regarding fees and given an opportunity to select a date for your surgery if you so desire. Postprocedure: When you awaken in the recovery room, you will be wearing a light compression garment on the areas that were liposuctioned. This helps decrease bruising and swelling. You will be allowed to return home approximately two hours following the procedure. You will be sore for about one week but the discomfort is fairly mild. Bruising can persist for up to three weeks. Dr. Flint will see you in the office at one week, one month and four months post-operatively. Most people return to work one week after surgery. No lifting or athletic activities are allowed for three weeks because it can cause excessive swelling and bruising. The results will be obvious within two weeks of surgery, but the final results will be evident in three to four months. Forehead lifts are used when there is a sagging brow or deep furrows between the eyes. A forehead or brow lift tightens loose skin and in some cases, removes the excess, and forehead wrinkling and drooping brows can be modified. When necessary, part of the muscle that causes vertical frown lines between the brows is also removed. There are two basic techniques that we use in browlifting; the more traditional coronal brow lift and the endoscopic forehead lift. For a coronal brow lift, we make an incision slightly behind the natural hairline, running from ear to ear across the top of the head. We usually make this incision well behind the hairline so that the scar is not visible. If your hairline is high or receding, the incision may be placed just at the hairline, so as not to move the forehead back. In patients who are losing hair, a mid-scalp incision may be preferred. For a browlift in New York City contact a board certified plastic surgeon. The endoscopic forehead lift offers the advantages of minimal incisions within the scalp, and a potentially shorter recovery period. Rather than making one long incision, we can use three to five scalp incisions of approximately one inch in length. An endoscope, a small wand with a camera on the end connected to a monitor, is inserted to allow the surgeon to have a clear view of the muscles and tissues beneath the skin. Another instrument is then inserted through a different incision, the forehead skin is lifted and the muscles and underlying tissues are removed or released. The eyebrows may also be lifted and secured into their higher position by sutures beneath the surface of the skin or by temporary fixation screws and other methods placed behind the hairline. Finally, the incisions are closed with stitches or staples. A brow lift is often performed with eyelid surgery and facial rejuvenation for the best results. New York plastic surgeon Eric Sadeh offers browlifts, facelift surgery, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty and other facial plastic surgery procedures. Located in New York City serving Manhattan, Queens and Forest Hills. Your eyes are the most revealing feature of your face. When engaged in conversation, our eyes are the center of attention. Puffiness, dark circles around the eyes, or droopy upper eyelids give the appearance of fatigue and aging. In some individuals, the excess skin of the upper eyelids can actually obstruct the field of vision, which can be dangerous when driving for instance. A surgical correction can remove the excess fat and drooping skin of the upper eyelids, minimize bags under the eyes and tighten the lower eyelid skin. The result is a fresh, youthful, and more rested appearance. Eyelid surgery is performed on men and women of all ages who want to improve their self-image. The following concerns are easily addressed with eyelid surgery, blepharoplasty: * Upper eyelid: o Excess skin that hides the natural fold of the upper eyelids o Loose skin that hangs down from the upper eyelids o Puffiness in the upper eyelids that creates a tired look * Lower eyelid: o Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelids o Puffy "bags" and dark circles In many instances, excess droopy skin of the upper eyelids is due at least partially to a lowered eyebrow. As we age, gravitational pull along with decreased elasticity of the skin leads to a downward fall or ptosis of the eyebrows. Naturally low set eyebrows may be genetic in some, in which case an endoscopic forehead lift or browlift is necessary at an earlier age. In others, an endoscopic forehead lift may be performed simultaneous to blepharoplasty. It is imperative, however, to address the low eyebrows in addition to blepharoplasty in order to avoid excision of excess skin of the upper eyelid. Returning the eyebrow to its aesthetic position decreases the amount of skin necessary for excision in the blepharoplasty. If a woman is a good candidate for reconstruction, she can usually expect a breast mound that will fill a bra cup to her desired volume, along with a nipple and areola, if desired. The opposite breast can be made to match by augmentation, reduction or lifting. These procedures are covered by insurance, as mandated by law. In addition, significant breast symmetry as a result of lumpectomy/radiation or multiple biopsies can be corrected with reconstructive surgery. The word "can" is used because breast reconstruction is a matter of choice. Some women choose to wear a breast prosthesis with their bra. Others may choose reconstruction, which is not limited to one's age. The overall health condition and status of the cancer are the issues that determine feasibility. Consultation with a plastic surgeon prior to mastectomy is part of a comprehensive breast care center program. The patient should be fully informed of her options for immediate versus delayed breast reconstruction. The technique(s) recommended are based upon her anatomy, medical background and anticipated future cancer treatments. Decision-making in breast reconstruction begins with the simple question of whether breast reconstruction will be part of the woman's recovery process. Some women know the answer immediately; others need days or weeks to decide. Once the decision is made to go ahead with the procedure, the next question is which technique to select. In each case, the decision is based upon surgical preference and which technique will be better in the face of any anticipated treatments of chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. If You're Considering Ear Surgery... Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. For the most part, the operation is done on children between the ages of four and 14. Ears are almost fully grown by age four, and the earlier the surgery, the less teasing and ridicule the child will have to endure. Ear surgery on adults is also possible, and there are generally no additional risks associated with ear surgery on an older patient. If you're considering ear surgery for yourself or your child, this information will give you a basic understanding of the procedure-when it can help, how it's performed, and what results you can expect. It can't answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on your individual circumstances. Please be sure to ask your doctor if there is anything you don't understand about the procedure All Surgery Carries Some Uncertainty and Risk When ear surgery is performed by a qualified, experienced surgeon, complications are infrequent and usually minor. Nevertheless, as with any operation, there are risks associated with surgery and specific complications associated with this procedure. A small percentage of patients may develop a blood clot on the ear. It may dissolve naturally or can be drawn out with a needle. Occasionally, patients develop an infection in the cartilage, which can cause scar tissue to form. Such infections are usually treated with antibiotics; rarely, surgery may be required to drain the infected area. http://technorati.com/claim/v4wa46pjf" rel="me">Technorati Profile Excessive weight gain and loss dramatically alters the elasticity of the skin. Whether your weight fluctuation is the result of gastric bypass surgery or dietary changes, sometimes skin cannot conform to your new body size. Hanging skin can be corrected through body contouring surgery. The goal of body contouring surgery is a smooth, symmetrical and proportionately balanced result. Uplifting your body, as well as your spirits, may be the answer to improving your appearance and health. Dr. Johnson can advise you of the body lift options available to you.
